Would like to say thank you so very much to pedro! We had a fantastic day with him as our tour guide in november! We had never been to the azores, so we did not have a clue what we wanted to see! All we told him is that we wanted a locals lunch, and to see the sights! We saw it all!!! The lunch was not only a locals lunch, but we watched the restaurant pull our lunch out of the ground (out of the volcano tubes it was cooking in for 6 hours) and then we followed them to the restaurant and eat it. It was one of the top lunches of all times for us! This was our 16th cruise, and we have eaten all over the world and this was the very best!! Pedro took us over the entire island, and once we got back to our ship we spoke with others who saw only 1/2 of what we had seen, and did not have the remarkable lunch we had!! Just a few days ago we saw the exact lunch on anthony bourdainne’s television show, and he too said it was one of his very best lunches, ever!! Pedro was the perfect guide for us! He was there when we got off the ship and got us back in plenty of time to re board! Pedro is very personable and spoke perfect english, and was a native with wonderful stories. I highly recommend pedro to one and all, and feel free to contact me anytime at daveandmardi@comcast.net. Mardi berry, oregon usa
Pedro took our family of six, ranging in age from 5 to 66,on an extensive tour of the island. His love of his homeland was apparent throughout the delightful, informative and thoroughly enjoyable trip. He was patient and courteous with a good sense of humour and his excellent knowledge of the island meant that he tailored the day so that we all had a great time, whatever our age.if anyone gets the chance to visit the island then our strong recommendation is to book pedro if you possibly can. We know you will not regret it.
Spent a wonderful christmas weekend in sao miguel and a major part of that was due to pedro. His hospitality was above and beyond and his worth of knowledge of the “green island” (name well suited for its amazing landscapes). Pedro shared with us sao miguel’s history from furnas, sete cidades & lagoa do fogo and everything in between. He took the time to answer any questions we had about the island’s culture and what distinguishes sao miguel from the other islands.
I would recommend pedro as your personal tour guide and would definitely call him if i decide to to revisit sao miguel. 🙂
